You mean the puff of smoke? I'm pretty sure that's what happens when you awaken your fruit. Luffy has it as does Lucci and Kaku. Naturally the five elders would have awakened their fruits.

Good point...Kaku too....I don't recall seeing that with him. I know his ability is awakened though. Same with Doffy. I sometimes wish the old site was still around...(maybe it was another forum). I remember the big discussions and fights around awakened DF when Luffy was fighting Doflamingo about it being an asspull...then someone was like no...it was brought up years and years ago.
I even did some quick google searching...apparently this was 2008/2009

Whatever category they fall under be it mythological or something new, (but most likely just an off shoot of mythological) there seems to be something connecting their fruits allowing them to summon each other.
