Re: There we go
I haven't watched a camrip in years. I haven't downloaded a current movie in a long time either. I haven't checked out a redbox since who knows when
... Maybe I've lost interest
... Typically, I pirate old stuff that I can't find or missed out on as a kid.

This new season of Young Justice has been quite underwhelming...the series has really lost it's spark and momentum.

Fuck this is going to be sweet, they going all the way in.
Ill have to check Young Justice again, simply to finish what I started. Show is not good enough to go on hiatus for so long. I knew it was going downhill once they made Aqualad gay.^^

Not of MCU Spider-Man. I wasn't sure if I wanted to spend money on it. It comes out January 7th here.Haohmaru wrote: ↑Fri Dec 17, 2021 11:32 pmHaha you must be one hard core Spider-Man fan. Terrible cam video but somewhat watchable enough.
Also am currently in the theater at the end credits of Matrix Resurrections.
Not woke, some cool updates to the world. A bit of a weird film it seemed to try a bit too hard with some story elements, way too meta and the Neo/Trinity connection.
Neil Patrick Harris did a great job.
Re: There we go
If DM says Matrix was not woke, then I can feel at ease to go watch it lol.
Fuck I'm at work humming the Bleach theme song now that I seen that trailer. A bunch of good memories just came flowing back lol.
I really want to purchase a NIO ET5 or ET7.

No talk/reviews of Halo Infinite?
I realized am no longer a gamer
...haven't turned on my 360 in years...and don't even watch to see what new releases are coming. I have unlimited money essentially and have no desire to get a new console either
weird considering how many decades I dedicated to the hobby
I remember seeing some meme before about...how you have said goodbye to someone/something for the last time and you don't even realize it . I have that feeling right now. Last new game I bought was in 2013 (GTA5).

This is like an abusive relationship. The final battle was such trash that I don't want to relive it but damn that looks so good. Why does Bleach hurt me so bad yet hurt me so good at the same time?San Goku wrote: ↑Sat Dec 18, 2021 11:10 am Bleach FINAL ARC: https://youtu.be/78WIYzX_m98

I completely missed PS4, I use my PS3 for Netflix and Amazon Prime. There are some interesting fighting games coming out that I really do want to try, KOF15, DnF Duel and whatever that Leauge of Legends fighter that the Cannon brothers are making. I could get all of them (except DnF Duel) on my PC so I may do that.killacross wrote: ↑Sat Dec 18, 2021 7:16 pm No talk/reviews of Halo Infinite?

I will be updating my thoughts on The Matrix as my brain processes the film. But similar to what I said above:
It wasn't particularly woke, the Matrix always had a diverse cast. There were some cool updates to the world itself. The ending doesn't really make sense. It's VERY clear that they didn't have the same fight choreography team, if you remember all of the Matrix films were shot pretty damn wide so that you can see the fights and the movements that everyone was doing. EVERYTHING was close up in this indicating that nobody had the fight prep and choreography of the previous films.
So the film was just...fine.
I dunno what it is but I've always found Jessica Henwick to be incredibly attractive. Even with the SJW haircut and blue hair, I'd still hit it.
And now for my review of Spider-Man No Way Home. Thoughts may evolve/change over time.
SPOILERS BEGIN!
The Good: -The absolutely best of MCU Spider-Man, but that isn't saying too much because I hate MCU Spider-man but by the end of this film I do hate him less.
-The film isn't really woke, although Zendaya is still insufferable
-NOSTALGIA
-By the end of the film he's closer to comics Spider-Man than he ever was before. Due to everyone forgetting about Peter Parker's existence he was no one. Aunt May is dead and everyone else forgot about him. He moves into a one-room apartment (similar to Tobey in Spider-Man 2) because this film also establishes that the high school stuff is now over. He has no more Stark tech and actually has to make his own suit.
-My fear is that they will fuck it all up in the new trilogy when everyone close to him eventually gets their memories back. However, now would be a perfect time to bring in the REAL GOD DAMN MARY JANE!
The bad:
-The adults are kinda still idiots. They really treat Doc Ock like shit and make it seem like MCU Spidey isn't surrounded by scientists and engineers with these villains. Yes, they mention that these guys are scientist but you don't really see it all that much. Even Electro was an engineer.
Dr. Strange casts a spell even he as the spellcaster isn't immune from. That's kinda stupid. You'd think that the one person you'd want to be immune from the effects of the spell is the one who casts it.
-That MCU Whedon-esque dialogue is so bad. It becomes very apparent with Tobey and Andrew are around because the dialogue in their films is better. They sound like kids when they all talk to each other and the jokes aren't even funny.
-This film firmly establishes that Uncle Ben never existed in the universe meaning that Aunt May has to be the sister of Peter's dad.
They kill her off (but not before giving Peter the power/responsibility speech) and that will never sit well with me. You wait for three movies to give Peter the main event that was what DEFINED him as Spider-Man? The thing that made him be Spider-man. It makes no sense and has no real meaning at this point. You can't do it after he's been Spider-Man for years.
Plus the way in which that speech was given was kinda dumb. May was sticking her nose and giving advice where it has no business. we're talking about the universe and multiverses here lady. Go away.
Peter's struggles with the general public were nonsense. You have access to Tony Stark's resources and AVENGERS that can vouch for you! Pepper Potts, Falcon (Oh, New Captain America), Bucky, Ant-Man, THE ENTIRE NATION OF WAKANDA, FUCKING THOR could send a message.
-Zendaya is eternally insufferable and they made Ned even worse. How? They gave him random magic powers. Yes, he can now open portals like the MCU wizards. Yes, magic training that people busted their asses to learn how to do is just given to Ned because (I shit you not) his grandma said that there was some magic in his family. It's the epitome of this "I don't have to work for anything" culture.
If you remember, Mary Jane was supposed to appear in Amazing Spider-Man 2. They filmed her scenes but then cut them out. I suspect had there been a third film she would've appeared. HOWEVER, Andrew-Spidey never finds love again after Gwen as she was his "MJ" (MCU Michelle Jones not Mary Jane) and I was like, "You motherfuckers!" I think this was to further Zendaya "MJ" being the "real MJ". I mean her entire existence is likely because some studio head wanted Zendaya in their Spider-Man films and they had to figure out a way to make her fit without her being Mary Jane Watson.
Also, while I appreciate him getting rid of the super suit, I don't really understand his motivations for doing it. You have no other resources now.
I dunno about this film. I don't like the direction of the MCU currently. As I've said, it died with Endgame really and this film is the best film to come out of phase 4. We'll see where they take it as they are essentially resetting Spider-Man, but significant damage was already done with the first 2 films and the overall portrayal of Spider-Man.
The mid-credit scene is connected to the Venom Let There Be Carnage mid-credit scene where Venom got transported to the MCU. They establish in this film that everyone that knew that Peter Parker was Spider-Man in another universe was drawn to the MCU one. That included Venom because in LTBC the mid-credit scene established that the symbiote's race is a hivemind that crosses over the multiverse, meaning that this symbiote knew Peter Parker was Spider-Man because he had the memories of the Sam Raimi symbiote. He gets sent back to his universe but not before leaving a small piece of himself behind. This could be how MCU Spider-Man gets the symbiote.

^^ Funny enough I'm just watching a clip of Bret Barr asking questions about the Build Back Better bill. He seems like he's under a lot of pressure from the sound of his voice.
I just closed my eyes completely at DM's post, I don't want to be spoiled....actually put a damn spoiler tag on that shit lol

Re: There we go
define "fine"
DM...you did enough when you put in big ass letters that spoilers were to follow
...and even then -- after reading the best MCU spiderman movie -- it was obvious what it was
Also -- spoilers have never really ruined a movie for me -- if I want to see it...I'll see it regardless.

A fetus, if we're defining "a human" as "has human DNA." That definition is problematic overall, but I don't mind handwaving it.Digital Masta wrote: ↑Thu Dec 16, 2021 7:53 amQuick question, what in our universe is human but not a person? Are there people that don't have human DNA?xandorxerxes wrote: ↑Thu Dec 16, 2021 12:34 am
By "human" I probably should have used "person." It's human DNA, but I don't consider it a person.
You cannot be human and not a person. That doesn't work.
The phrase "he came back a different person" is probably an easy way of encapsulating what I'm talking about, though the line itself wouldn't be relevant to any point I attempted to make. It's not necessarily entirely biological. Early identical twin fetuses are exactly the same. Identical twin children are not.
There is a stage in human life where you cease being a parasitic lump of cells and can become a biologically independent organism. I'm OK drawing the line there. We allow people to make life or death decisions for their dependents when those dependents are incapable of making those decisions themselves. I'm OK with the assumption that unborn life wants to live - once that life is capable of having wants.

Re: There we go
I'm having a weird WTF moment right now
Do you all remember the pirate TV show Black Sails? I remember the conversation I had with the person who told me to watch it. I started college in 2003. I worked at a Sears store during some of those years. I remember the dept manager who recommended It's Always Sunny...and Black Sails as go to shows. We also had a COD:MW 1 league that we would all play as well (the years line up for this), the Nintendo Wii hustle I used to do (the years line up for this), and the PS3 shortages (the years line up for this too).
Anyway...I left Sears in 2008. And haven't talked to that manager since...
SO HOW THE FUCK COULD THIS SHOW HAVE COME OUT IN 2014?
