I'm not talking about policy stuff. I'm simply talking about how people, in particular relatives of mine that wanna talk about the struggles of black people yet sit here and champion a woman whose entire life's work is putting black people (and others) back in prison and being the attack dog for the government. Because woman and black.

In particular, my cousin who is all about the black struggle went to THE HBC of HBCs (Howard University where Harris also went) yet is completely cool with Kamala Harris. Guess all that black struggle shit was just bullshit, eh?

Then of course there is the whole "Black woman! Black woman!" thing...because fuck Indian people, right?

Like I said before at least Obama went full into the whole embracing being black thing.

I gotta tell ya, it's kinda frustrating when you come to the realization that your relatives are political simpletons and you sound like the crazy person when you go, "Yeah, but how about this..."

First - I was totally wrong. Biden did a bunch of policy shit I just didn't pay attention to at the time. My bad.

To play devil's advocate for your family - sometimes it's more about breaking into something than who does the breaking. If Kamala is a terrible awful no good very bad person but an OK VP and makes it easier or normalizes it for a better woman/black/indian person to get a leadership role later or is aspirational to a good person later, that might be seen as a win. I question all of the feel good stories talking to kids about her, but I've always had someone who looks like me in political power so I can't relate. Also I'm a joyless husk, but you all knew that. They may see it as "black this/that" because they're black, whereas an Indian family might see it as "Indian this/that."

That's just me throwing shit at the wall to see what might stick though.

There's a divide in the black community about Obama and Harris. There is a movement about ADOS (American decendants of slavery) vs black looking people. People like Harris and Obama... Though they may look it, they do not have the same history as a black person who grew up in the states (they have ELITE histories) . When you look at the two classes statistically, there is a HUGE divide in outcomes. Now I acknowledge it, I just don't believe in playing the perpetual victim card. It's a HUGE issue that I wouldn't get into here... But again, some people don't even dig into it that deep (which was DMs point)

Pfft, you all don't know struggle until you've lived in an Irish family. My mother was born in Cork but she moved to Belfast after she married my father. Both her sisters(My aunts) and my grandmother hitched themselves along with her.........Cork is five hours away!!! This was actually the first moment of tension in their marriage, and a sore spot with my father for years because he had been planning simultaneously to move down south just to get away from my crazy uncle.

I can't tell you how many Christmas mornings with my nutball of a family included some variation of the exclamation erupting from my fathers mouth: "Damn it Mary, we could have lived in Kerry!!"

So...killa whats going on in NC?

https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.newsob ... 05375.html

I know this makes me a bigot but I am pretty sure mothers day and fathers day covers all parents. Even if you are a guardian. You are effectively one or the other.

Yes, I am saying there are only two genders.

The legendary Larry King died at 87, RIP. I can't even count how many times we watched him on TV growing up. On of the few good things CNN had.

Edit

Can't forget Hank Aaron too, held the home run record for 33 years.

Usually at work when I find out, I start 6am. On the road at 4am-5am sometimes lol.

I really gotta go through James Brown catalog sometime. Cause when I'm watching certain shows I hear his music playing in the background and I'm like cotdamn. His music probably sampled the most.

About to do some upgrades in the kitchen again...
I hate shopping/designing shit with my wife

She refuses to make a decision... But would complain about it for the next 10 years

The company came out to do some pre inspection stuff and take measurements. She asked what I wanted. I told her a copy/paste of our existing shit

.. We get the estimate.. And it's not a copy/paste.... . At all

We go to the store to finalize some things...she's like.. Whoopsie

The pure dumb shit makes my fucking blood boil

I dicked around a little bit and made some money, but I'll preach index/value all day long. At some point the /WSB guys pushing this are gonna decide to nope out and leave all of the other scramblers to try to sell their shit before it bottoms out. If I had known Gamestop was $3 at some point though I might have bought in thinking it would go up to $5 when they tried to turn it around before it failed, this is just lunacy.

I love it for the accuracy of "Oh yeah, that's Pikachu right there." because that's exactly what would happen. Everyone really does know Pikachu.
