I think every Corporation has a knee-jerk reaction. I work for Government Crown corporation (Gov agency) and they sent 75% of the people home with paid leave, forgetting we are still an essential business and have a business to run.

This pandemic is showing who the Leaders are.

Milton Friedman on the four ways you can spend money. Government is always without fail #4 and typically businesses DO NOT operate like #4...unless it's big pharma apparently.

1.You can spend your own money on yourself. When you do that, why then you really watch what you’re doing, and you try to get the most for your money.

2. You can spend your own money on somebody else. For example, I buy a birthday present for someone. Well, then I’m not so careful about the content of the present, but I’m very careful about the cost.

3.I can spend somebody else’s money on myself. And if I spend somebody else’s money on myself, then I’m sure going to have a good lunch!

4. I can spend somebody else’s money on somebody else. And if I spend somebody else’s money on somebody else, I’m not concerned about how much it is, and I’m not concerned about what I get.

I'm really curious why we don't see the statistics of the Coronavirus for races. I mean we have for age and gender, I don't see the big deal... or maybe it is a big deal.

Also seen glimpses of nature returning or growing cause everyone is staying in doors it's pretty cool. Seen a beautiful fox just strolling down my mom's house at night, I've never seen that as long as I've been there. Water is clearing up. I seen clips on tv as well.

Really getting into this Queen Sono on Netflix. African secret agent show.

It doesn't affect races differently at the virus level but based on culture or socio-economic status you'll see different outcomes. A tight-knit community type culture (see: crazy churches, almost all of the others are worshipping safely) will be harder hit, and so will poorer areas with worse access to healthcare.

Idiots congregating and claiming the virus is fake don't help either.

It still paints a picture, the virus kills males and females all the same but there is a stat for it. No point in debating it.

In Germany they had a drive in concert which was fine but a week before there was a drive in church service and the police was called. I actually think both are great ideas to salvage some type of past norms.

There is some data about races. And that is that here in the US it's mostly blacks that are being intubated or dieing (usually between 60-75%) even though in such areas they typically make up 20-30% of that areas population. There's a multitude of reasons why they think that's happening to the black and to an extent the brown communities.

Not really sure what you mean about debating it. Info is there, there's just not a difference. The differences that are there aren't because the virus affects people differently but because of how people are living/responding. Skin and gender don't matter, essentially.

...that's not entirely true. Sicknesses and viruses and diseases affect the races differently. It may be true in this case (I dunno because I didn't go past the headlines on this one)...but I know I saw articles that said that COVID was hitting different races (particularly blacks) harder than others. It could have been 100% socio-economic, but again, I haven't looked.

Right - I'm saying that this particular virus (COVID) does not discriminate based on sex or gender. The increased rates of infection and mortality are a result of different socioeconomic conditions (in current publications, at least).

I think it may go deeper than just that though...thinking that COVID is particularly deadly with the right pre-existing conditions. Being black makes you genetically predisposed to a ton of ailments. Probably plays into it. Same reason that it is "deadlier" for Americans in general because of our obesity epidemic

Afroman - Because I got high: https://youtu.be/WeYsTmIzjkw

I heard this on the radio today and I couldn't make the connection as to why it would be playing now. I used to think it was the dumbest song in the world but now I think it's pure genius. Laughed my ass off. Later the wife told me it's 4/20, makes sense.

I would assume blacks outside of America would do better against the coronavirus.

Yup, blacks in Africa would definitely do better than blacks in the States.

Check out The Last Dance on Netflix about the Jordan era Bulls. OMG Scottie Pippen set the ground work for young athletes to never screw them selves over in a contract.

Americans tend to only look at Americans in their data, and I've only been looking at specific country data so I can't tell you what a 'worldwide' statistic would include or not. I only know that generally they'll break information like that out. You are right in that blacks do better in countries with universal health care than in America, because in America blacks are more likely to have less income and be uninsured, therefore they avoid hospitals more and don't get treated.

Spending a week in the ICU is no joke on the wallet (especially without insurance).

Edit: Forgot what Killa said too - that could definitely be a factor.

As much as I like winning (a lot), I promise I'm just trying to provide answers :) I respond/quote you a lot because you tend to ask more questions (good man).
