Only Biden is awful at debating, but Trump doesn't debate. Look at 2016, he just makes things up. No details, no substance, nothing. There's nothing any of them can say to that. They can either play his game (and lose) or find some way to incorporate fact checks into a debate.

On second thought, maybe Biden would be fine. He seems to be able to make things up on the fly too, only he buckles when confronted with facts later (maybe they'll arrest him in South Africa again, oh wait).

Warren was the only decent debater of the three of them, and since she dropped out her delegates are now freed. I imagine her delegates will vote Biden now, and supposedly most of her voters will likely go to Biden over Sanders too. I think she burnt the bridge down with the false "a woman can't win" narrative both in terms of her viability as a candidate and any reconciliation between her/her voters and Sanders/his voters.

Warren is possibly worse than Hillary in terms of likeablity actually the trifecta of "nobody likes you" is Clinton, Warren, Harris. Worse thing about Warren is she is just transparently opportunistic and a vicious liar. Not in a Trump lying way. Where Trump just says shit and has a frail ego so everything is always "the best" and "perfect" but in a calculating, stab you in the back, I will snipe you all to get my shit kinda way.

And when it comes to debates you're thinking with logic and facts and all that. None of that matters. It's never mattered, it's all about how people feel and optics and Trump just being Trump is gonna be too much for any of these people. They can't insult like he can and that's all that will matter. Did he own them on stage? That's all people will care about or talk about.

Warren has a little goodwill with me after the CFPB, so she's above Hillary in my book. Otherwise agreed 100%.

When he had all Bill's side chicks in the audience and pointed them out was legendary lol.

So Warren dropped out, I thought she was going to back Sanders which would make the race more interesting as Bloomberg supported Biden.

After the whole "Did Bernie tell you a woman couldn't win" spiel I don't think that's going to happen. She's also very starkly opposed the "socialist" label, so while she ideologically is closer to Bernie she may not endorse him. Who knows though. There was also talk of Biden trying to tap her for VP but that was more projection than anything (like people speculating Trump is throwing Pence under the bus putting him in charge of Corona response).

Edit: Apparently she had an interview with Maddow and talked about how toxic she felt his supporters were. Seems to still hold him in decent regard based on the article I'm reading, but she's also saying he should be accountable for his supporters are doing and she thinks he doesn't actually care.

538 updated their model, and now it's showing Biden has about an 88% shot of winning based on the more recent polls. That comes with quite a few caveats this time around, namely that there's not a lot of polls (especially good ones) post super Tuesday, California is still counting ballots (they allow any mail-ins as long as they're postmarked by election day so there are lots still in the mail), there is a lot of volatility in the ones the polls they do have, and Michigan is a big prize in the next round of elections and Michigan apparently has notoriously bad polling.

Take it as an educated guess based on current delegate math and what limited polls are available until they get more information. They of course have a much bigger write-up on their site if you wanted to read it.

Nate Silver is the owner/editor of 538, he's the one that gained fame from forecasting the 2008 election results. For other Baseball saber nerds out there, he did the PECOTA forecasts for about 6 years before he got famous from politics. They still do sports write-ups (https://fivethirtyeight.com/sports/), but if you're looking to avoid politics entirely I probably wouldn't read it. Surely there'd be too many links.

So my son and I went to church yesterday and one of the youth pastors was doing his sermon. The topic was about the definition of discipline and how it's really used to teach children. Also talked about obeying your parents, etc.

He played a classic Cosby show clip on how to manage your money with Theo, getting good grades and stuff.

I had a good chuckle, I think you guys could appreciate this.

Thanks for that, I never really watched the show growing up. Definitely amusing.

You're not touching the money for a long time, stop looking at it ;)

I've had some savings for a down payment on a house, but I'm more tempted now to just throw it all in a fund and rent for a while longer.

Considering taking a pre-apprentice program where I don't need a company sponsor and it takes a couple months to a year to complete.

What changes at the end of the program versus if you don't take it? How much will it cost?

Exactly!! .. Not getting certs just to get certs right?

How will you monetize it?

I thought you had an engineering degree... A job change may be more advantageous than a new cert

With my latest pay bump.. I am finally at a 6 figure SALARY.

Not the most that I've made... But SALARIED!!

Rock on, congrats!

I may be going the other way - I'm moving out to Ohio from Connecticut, so I may or may not be getting a pay decrease since the cost of living is so much lower (the office I technically work out of is in Manhattan, so... yeah). I'm attempting to get a higher position and either keep the same pay or get a slight bump. Trying to resist my tendency to just take the first job thrown at me, I've been completely burnt out at my current job for a while. Didn't know where we were moving to until a couple of months ago and we're not moving until June.

Can't wait for all of the political calls since we're moving before November... we'll see if I still have the balls to vote third party every election in a major swing state.

Edit: Just noticed, the profile time zones are set in universal time (UTC) which doesn't recognize daylight savings time. Do I actually care enough to change the time zone though...

It will be in HVAC and I will get 2 gas certifications to work on anything with 400,000 BTU. I've been wanting to get into Facility management for sometime now but I have nothing to back that experience up. I figure with some certs under my belt I can get into it.

Yes I have the eng degree and I have a lot of work experience but I would like to specialize in something and work with my hands a bit.

The training would be a year (52 wks). It's actually a pre-apprenticeship program. I wouldn't need anything beyond that. As it will complement the degrees and past theory I have.

I think the guy said with everything around $16K. I'm going to meet up with him this week. That is a lot to stomach, but I am at the point where I need to do something else now. I've been at my job 5 years come November now. I don't see any other room for growth and to move up in my current situation.

Here's my decision making process on things like this, feel free to use/ignore as you see fit:

- What's the long-term goal? Facilities Manager for an enterprise? Start your own company? Run a co-location facility?
- What are the intermediary steps to get there?
- What is required to get to the next immediate step?
- Will this training help you get there? Note that if you are already pretty much at the next step, you can ask instead "will this training help you get to one of the steps farther along?"
- How will you leverage the training (i.e. is it instructional for your role, does it help with the job search to make you stand out, mentor help place you in a new role, etc)?

For the training specifically, you'll want to know a few things as well:

- What happens if you're 2 months in and decide you hate it? Are you out the full $16K?
- Is the apprenticeship through a reputable source? Are you sure (s)he isn't just going to take your money and run?
- If you pay and the training isn't what was advertised, what recourse do you have?
- Will this training either increase my salary or otherwise get me to where I want to be? If it doesn't help you get into a new role on your path, it should at least help you get paid more to cover the cost of it.

Having a good mentor can be huge, I just don't want to see you invest and get scammed or regret it later.

On the upside...people gonna realize that they didn't need to have all those useless meetings with them all working from home n' shit.

Also Harvey Weinstein got 23 years in prison. Maybe now people will speak the fuck up when this shit goes down, but Hollywood probably gonna just Hollywood. There is dark shit that goes on.
