Re: There we go
He's crazy gifted. He is crazy successful. And he's been doing it for a decade plus. I can respect and appreciate the talent, I'm just not a fan.
In my mind, it's similar to an attractive Asian woman. I can see and understand why - but it doesn't do much for me.

Re: There we go
I still can't name a Kendrick or Drake song.
I probably know it if I heard it but that's about it.

You not in these streets..gettin it outta the mud...grindin....hustlin...
...I know white people that know more about this shit than me. I'm familiar with it at a surface level. I'mnot really a west coast rap fan...heard a lot of his music but probably actually know the lyrics to maybe 3 songs, each. Kendrick is better than Drake...but Drake is more mainstream.

I thought Serena crip walking was stupid as hell.
Ma'am I know that you and Drake have history but you are a 40-something year old woman with kids, grow up.

Lmfao, fuck I didn't even think of that. She's a grown ass woman to a billionaire husband. Sit your ass downDigital Masta wrote: ↑Wed Feb 12, 2025 10:40 pm I thought Serena crip walking was stupid as hell.

Re: There we go
i'm a lil surprised to hear that response from yall. aside from the fact that he started off with his mic too low, i liked the performance. serena still being connected to compton and the culture was a nice contrast to drake and everything k.dot was saying about him

^^the dumbest take
Serena is a billionaire. She barely has anything to do with American culture now - let alone Compton, CA.

Re: There we go
Also, I know Serena dated Drizzy way back. He probably smashed and they didn't end on good terms. It comes across as bitter to me, even though she ended up marrying a billionaire.

Re: There we go
Just finished this yesterday. I don't relate to anyone on that show. And I wouldn't give a shit about the secretary's husband. I would keep my mouth shut and collect my $1M/year salary. Fuck the social service worker type BS.
I honestly don't even understand the point of the show - but most of the acting was fucking phenomenal. And Diane Lane is such a gorgeous older woman.
Re: There we go
Shit is wild. I was gonna say, no one puts this much energy into a lie, but apparently they do.

respectfully, we have different perspectives on culture since you felt the need to bring money into the conversation.killacross wrote: ↑Sat Feb 15, 2025 10:53 am ^^the dumbest take

my surpise was mostly because i spent years thinking a couple of yall on here were from a certain culture. to hear yall sounding like my confused non-black co-workers was a surprise. i'm not tripping or policing your opinion. k.dot's opinion seems to differ from yours, and her husband already defended her strongly.
fwiw i popped on here the other day just to lurk a lil bit in hopes yall are doing well.

Re: There we go
But you're wrong. It's ok for you to admit it. Black culture is the only culture that thinks it's "keeping it real" to revisit the shit holes they escape after they've escaped. Then they wonder why we have these people constantly being killed in places they had no fucking business being. I'm thinking of nipsey hustle and takeoff and pnb rock specifically.ifeanyi84 wrote: ↑Tue Feb 18, 2025 10:03 pm respectfully, we have different perspectives on culture since you felt the need to bring money into the conversation.

Serena is" repping" Compton from LA... Not "repping" Compton from Roscoe's Chicken. It's performative, it's stupid, and it's beneath her station in life.
Like DM said... She's a 40 year old mother and wife to a non-black billionaire who also wears her makeup in a effort to bleach her beautiful skin. (I added that last part).
Black culture always celebrates the worst things for us.. And idolizes the worst poeple for our communities. We know who the dope boys and killers are...they literally poison our neighborhoods.. But our culture says no snitching. Get good grades or speak English? You're acting white. So much about our culture is so fucking backwards.
Either way, glad you stopped by... The site is slowly dying... And some of us are gonna ride it into the ground

Re: There we go
Also, her older half-sister was murdered by Crips. No way in hell I would EVER do their dance if they killed someone I cared about.
But yeah, glad to see you stop by.

Re: There we go
opinion is wrong cuz it's not popular with you? i said you sound like my white co-workers for a reason. you related money to culture and then talked about roscoes chicken. was i wrong that our perspectives on culture differ? was i wrong for enjoying a performance filled with symbolism, from an artist i like? or was it enjoying the cameo from a black cultural icon? we know black culture aint a monolith, but was i wrong for not agreeing with your opinion?
the gang connection is spurious at best but that's me assuming yall remember the difference between the dance and actually crip walking. i was thinking about wimbledon, how i was doing that same dance back then, and how many people i know that picked up a racket and/or started watching tennis cuz she was just visibly being regular, relatable, and black.
i saw the comments already admitting to heads not being familiar with k.dot's body of work so i'm also surprised that the opinions are so strong on the subject. initially i mentioned that i liked the performance cuz i thought there was room for an actual conversation. i was more expecting responses like "hey, what did you like about it?" it's just not every time i pop in that yall are on a subject i feel like i can jump in on. i guess i've been quiet long enough that i shoulda just stuck to lurking at best.

Re: There we go
^^ I will say I was a fan of Kendrick before he started beefing with Drake. I respect him as a rapper. I'm not buying the narrative that he ended Drake's career, I'm a fan of Drake's too, more so then Kendrick I would say.
When Serena did the crip walk back then, I was a fan of it. I thought it was cool and funny. Doing it for the Kendrick song has double meaning that I'm aware of. Kendrick did it to add another layer to the Drake insult. However, I know Drake used to date Serena. Like she really used to date him. So I will have to agree with DM, it is beneath her. Killa's criticism ain't wrong either. These are lived experience.
Also, good to see you. We are riding this site until the wheels fall off.

Re: There we go
I'm being misunderstood - which is completely understandable because I approached the conversation by immediately being disrespectful. I'll apologize for that right now. I'm sorry. My persona is rather flippant.
We do have differing opinions on the "impact" of the SB show.
But if you are interested in race discussion, I am now interested in your take on a discussion that the Kamala/Kendrick/Drake conversation from a few posts back. I'll edit this post when I find the start.
**EDIT**
OK - it started with a discussion around Diddy

Re: There we go
So we from Diddy to where we are now? It's all a distraction from Diddy/Epstein list

Re: There we go
Based on your previous posts, I'm not sure you care about or otherwise want to know who is on those lists...
My usual response to doing well is "I'm still breathing." I'm a blast at parties. Nice to see you.
Re: There we go
I would say only ppl doing illegal hurtful shit like rape and sex to underage girls and boys should be outed. However, if guys like DM and killa go out for a good time and get a plug up their butt. I don't need to know their down low business. So yes, I do care. How could you think I don't care? I joke around a lot on here I guess.xandorxerxes wrote: ↑Fri Feb 21, 2025 12:36 pmBased on your previous posts, I'm not sure you care about or otherwise want to know who is on those lists...

Edit
3-2 Canada vs U.S in 4 Nations final, yay.
