Where i live in NC it will be 30F (highs) to 15F (lows) every day. It will warm back up into the 40s-50s and drop into the 30s (overnight) by the weekend.

I'm starting to believe that climate change is real guys!! It's exactly as they said...it will burn us all up...I just wish they had specified that it was freezer burn.

-16C is I don’t want to go outside level cold. We haven’t had -10 in decennia over here. This winter it’s been a steady around the -1C. Which is Allright I guess.
Canada weather is craaaazy -25C to -40C. What do you guys even do when it’s that cold. Does your world stop to function.
Like do people even go to work?

Yup, I used to jog in this weather up until this year lol. Funny thing is some parents were complaining that teachers let their kids outside for recess, but this is the norm in Canada. You just have to dress warm. As I get older, I'm less and less for the cold. However, if you are keeping active like skating or snowboarding it's fun. We don't get good snow in my region anymore.

Same here, I used to really enjoy the cold days with snow, up until last year... all of a sudden I realized I was annoyed by the weather.

This used to be the norm here too when I first moved to colorado a decade ago, those first couple of winters were just miserable for January. This is the first year since like 2016 where January has been actually cold

I mean, it's the heat that's exacerbating the cold weather.

I've been purposely avoiding the news, but then Trump has to go and cut cancer funding and raise drug prices. Even putting my head in the sand I can't get away from this fucker.

Make sense now why that OpenAi employee got murdered, Sam Altman had a lot riding on pushing this Stargate AI mRNA drug deal with Trump.

It would actually be the opposite. Heat would cause water to be absorbed into the air/atmosphere

Water in the atmosphere stabilizes the weather (desserts have little water.. And therefore crazy temp swings)

You could argue that climate change is causing stronger storms during the summer months... But it can't be the same for these historic cold weather events

And earth's axis and orbit aren't changing to cause the seasons or these major weather events to happen in random places

Also.. The cretaceous? period had more co2 than now... But without the weather. I think there were more storms... But they were not as big or severe

It's been so long since I took that class as part of my environmental engineering curriculum

For the most part, warmer surface temperatures mean a warmer ocean, which means more powerful storms as they originate over the oceans before making landfall. This current freeze winter is caused by the polar vortex, which is caused by the northern jet stream shifting south and dragging a lot of really cold air with it.

Basically, warmer air holds more water vapor, but warmer ocean surface temperatures cause stronger storms across the planet. Places like Denver, which is pretty arid now, would become wetter, but other areas will suffer desertification. The area around denver used to be swamp land in the cretaceous period, which is why there's so many fossils.

It was also renamed 'climate change ' in part because the global warming was impacting climate in all seasons, so we'd be seeing cold storms despite the earth heating. Speaking of:

Everyone knows that you can boil water so much that it eventually turns to ice

Makes sense to me
