I would like that distinction to be made, because they all have a dark evil DF aura.

You mean the puff of smoke? I'm pretty sure that's what happens when you awaken your fruit. Luffy has it as does Lucci and Kaku. Naturally the five elders would have awakened their fruits.

Good point...Kaku too....I don't recall seeing that with him. I know his ability is awakened though. Same with Doffy. I guess there is a certain level even at awakened.

I realized i was mixing up Kaku and Katakuri but I meant Kaku. That's even worse if Oda made that plot hole for himself lol.

Whatever category they fall under be it mythological or something new, (but most likely just an off shoot of mythological) there seems to be something connecting their fruits allowing them to summon each other.
