I agree with some of those responses - why would you even put your pronouns on your job resume? The hiring person is going to be talking to you directly, it's not even useful. Get hired then deal with it.

The guy who said "you're a he or a she" should really learn what an indefinite pronoun is though. Also lulz at the guy talking about drama. It's just as much drama as hiring someone who you can't tell what the gender is by looking at them. I guess they probably don't hire androgynous looking people either.

I wish the authors had published their methodology - without the methodology results are basically worthless. The article calls it "non-scientific" so obviously there's something lacking somewhere. Thanks to that the interviews with the people are far more valuable than whatever that report produced.

Additional movie drama - apparently the Barbie movie has a map including the nine-lines, because of course they do. Anything for those delicious yuan.

I'm branching out with my condiments, made some prik nam pla, which is a thai chili fish sauce condiment. While interesting and super fishy by itself, mixing it in with curries and stews has been fantastic.

Adds a bunch of heat and a solid savory/umami depth.

Soooo...
I have issues

I've told you all that I typically pick up all calls... And respond to wrong number texts.. I think it's funny

So this girl messages me some random message. I respond back with... Wrong number.. But hope you have a great day anyway

She responds back and it sparks up a conversation

She has been sending me messages every day now for a week or so. She's sent a handful of selfies as well. And we even had a video chat for 10 minutes or so. She was like.. "I was so scared that you (me) were trying to run some scam on me (her)... I'm so glad you are just a regular, normal, person"...

It's almost certain that she is running scams...

I figure.. As long as I don't click any links in text messages or wire any money and no pictures of my family.. Work... Sensitive info... What harm can she do?

I work in data privacy and my definition of "sensitive" is generally along legal lines so we may have two definitions and are talking past each other - but be careful with non-sensitive data too. It's remarkably easy to get a lot of additional information with just your basic information. Name and general location is all it can take sometimes. Of course I'm paranoid enough I remove address labels from shipping boxes before I recycle them and shred all receipts instead of throwing them away, so you may just want to leave me classified in the ''looney" bin.

I'm paranoid myself... I'm really just waiting for her to bring up crypto and that NOW is the time to invest

-I've said I live east coast
-I've said I'm an engineer
-Gave her a fake name
-Said I'm married.. No mention of kids

-She's said she is from Belarus
-Moved to the states 6 years ago
-Ex Husband is likely an alcoholic that cheated on her
-She fled to get away from his family (because divorce isn't a thing) to live with her aunt in CA
-her aunt is rich
-she finally saved up enough to move on her own.. But it's so expensive
-she's a social media "model", has a beauty salon (that aunty funded), and is taking it 1 day at a time

If she brings up the crypto thing... I'm gonna waste her effort... And play dumb the whole time

I don't care of she's real or not.. I have assigned 0 value to her life right now

It's either... Crypto.. Or "I need money for rent/lights/water/food"

.. At this point, I could watch her drown

Edit***: And yyyyyyep!
Definite scam!
She's suddenly incredibly flirty.. And brought up crypto in passing. She should eventually make $50k/month using the system her aunt developed to make millions. Right now it's only &$5k..but she's determined.

I guess I'm supposed to be so awkward around girls that I give her whatever she wants to keep the attention and flirting going. She hasn't asked me to participate just yet.

I'm similar btw. All documents get shredded then put into the firepit. Then a good stir afterwords before it gets dumped into the compost pile. In the past, when I quit a job... The uniforms get shredded and dumped across at least 7 dumpsters - Which was actually "funny"
Because when I quit FedEx and told someone about shredding my uniform - They said I was crazy. That same year there was the crossbow murderer in a Fedex uniform. I think he was in Canada.

Or you drop that you did something similar and it got you super rich already. She's welcome to buy in, of course. Only a few thousand!

I remember 2 stories years ago

1. A guy took a credit card apciation.. Filled it out. Fed it through a confetti style shredder. Took all the pieces and taped them back together... And got approved.

2. There was some technology where they can take ashes from burned paper and do some forensics mumbo jumbo and read what was written. The guy got caught because he wrote down where his wife would be for the hitman. The hit man botched it.. And when he was caught and they tossed his house. He burned the note... But they got the info back and matched the handwriting to the husband. So then they did the forensic thing on the husband and caught him too.

Interestingly enough there has actually been a movement away from BC pills because of how they fuck up women's bodies and the over prescribing of them by doctors to deal with many things women-related.

Correct, women may sometimes just go off their menstrual cycle calendar. Pills 💊 can mess their cycle up (throw it off) or make it more bloody, etc. I've heard it all.

The issue I see with the new one is consistency - you have to take it within a 3 hour window every day for it to work. There are going to be so many people getting pregnant because they ignored that instruction.

Unless I'm reading this wrong, pill use has actually increased. It was 12.6% from 2015-2017, and is currently 14%. I have seen articles a few indeterminate time periods ago (months? weeks? hell if I know) about people establishing groups to get them banned thanks to the recent overturn of Roe v Wade, saying the pills shouldn't be used because of hormones etc. Those same groups usually also advocate for using cycle timing as the only "birth control," so... lulz.

I'm not seeing any literature on the status of over-prescription for it though, so if you've got something I'd love to read it. That'd be an interesting comparison to the other classes (painkillers, adhd, depression, etc). I do know that the pill does actually help with a variety of potential issues women can have.

Everything has potential side effects. Pregnancy has some pretty definite ones to go with them, especially if you have any complications. Fortunately you can switch methods if the side effects of the pill are serious... can't do much about the pregnancy.

Just stating that there is a movement of women that believe the pill can do more harm than good overall.

For example, women in Japan have have always been rather gun-shy about taking the pill.

As far as overprescribing it goes:

What's the overall opinion for abortions and birth control in Japan?

Under 22 weeks is legal. They are not covered by insurance and it isn't really spoken about. Of course women get them but I suspect most women who get pregnant just get a shotgun wedding. Unless she got knocked up by a married man then maybe she would get one.

https://www.statista.com/statistics/107 ... cal%202021.
In the fiscal year 2021, approximately 126.17 thousand cases of induced abortions were reported in Japan, indicating a decrease of around 11 percent compared to the previous fiscal year. There was a total number of about nine thousand abortions performed for patients in Japan under 20 years old in fiscal 2021.
I've met very few women on birth control here.

Just finished Final Fantasy 16. This is after not playing an RPG seriously in probably over 10 years. I really enjoyed it for the most part.

The English voice acting is absolutely incredible.

So.. I used to work at THE Pfizer plant in NC taht was damaged by the tornado yesterday

I reached out and no one that I know was injured, but they said some of their cars were destroyed. The plant has been closed until further notice. Wonder how payroll and such gets handled. I'd assume they have insurance for something like this... It is a multi billion dollar site.
