Episode 1 of 1883 was pretty good, think I'll continue. Another recommended show for me to watch is Your Honor, which I might check out this week.

Random. I had a dream that I was Kang The Conquer and ruled the entire multiverse....

Yeah, just antagonize two nuclear powers, right? What could go wrong? The arrogance of these people.

Whoever is funding the most and is a superpower (U.S) is running the show.

I don't agree with it. However I do know that college and the loan system is a racket and they sell young people bullshit, everyone tells them to go college (less nowadays as more options have opened up) and we learn NOTHING about money, loans, and all that in school. We're just told to take out all these loans and then major in whatever we want.

You can't expect a 17-year-old that was never taught anything about this fucked system other than "go to college and get loans" to make informed, life-altering decisions about this stuff. Everyone they would trust is telling them to do it.

Having said that, the economics of forgiveness don't work.

Russia can end this very easily, by leaving Ukrainian soil.

It's that simple.

This conflict started long before that happened. Is Russia wrong for doing it? Of course, but let's not act like the US hadn't been poking the bear for 30 years.

This will not end with Russia just leaving. Ukraine is at least going to lose those pro-Russian areas Russia originally aimed for. Those areas are significantly Russian speaking and weren't in good relations with the rest of Ukraine for a long time.

ONE (One Punch Man and Mob Psycho creator) has a new manga out with another artist and the series is called Versus and I'm all for it. Fun, interesting premise. Only 4 chapters out so far. Check it out.

It's not out of the realm of possibility, even with the stakes being culturally and politically higher.
The U.S fought a proxy war during the Soviet-Afghan conflict which ultimately resulted in full withdrawal. It may have taken just over 10 years, but economic collapse and concurrent global-political realignments - failing socialist states the world over during that period - pressed hard on the Soviets who were very much a nuclear power at that time, just as the Russian Federation is now. All this ballyhoo and armchair prognostication about a desperate Russia resorting to the last solution of all nuclear powers(not claiming you're making this argument, just a digression on my part) ignores the primary motivator of every modern war; Economics.

The Ukrainian's will to fight is obviously uncontested. At this point its a fight between who can throw the most money at this conflict.

Some of the annexed regions may be too far gone I agree, but a majority withdraw from the country definitely has semi-historical precedence.
Ukraine will never want to officially cede Crimea and the Donbas region, so this war will be protracted no question.

But Putin isn't going to live forever, and regardless of the fact that he will most assuredly install a successor who closely aligns with his imperialistic tendencies, entropy has always been Russia's downfall.

Afghanistan isn't right on Russia's border, again if China or Russia were to enter into a "defense pact" with South American countries that kept growing towards the US border. The US government would've crushed that shit long before it reached Mexico.

I hold the nuclear war threat seriously because you see how recklessly these people act. The US government is just that arrogant to think they can just push and push. And all it takes is one wrong decision to turn this into a whole different level of war.

The fact that by last April there was a chance for Ukraine and Russia to come to a deal and it was stifled by Boris Johnson (at the behest of his US masters) because now is the chance to weaken Russia is disgusting. They are happy to toy with Ukrainian lives.

Antony Blinken has made no efforts to speak to his Russian counterpart for the entirety of this war thus far.

They want to drain Russia like it's Afghanistan but that means more dead Ukrainians, more dead Russians and a potential for war escalation involving more major countries. It's all bad and a very dangerous game.

^^^ Bingo!

A couple things:

Watched ep 1 of 'The Last of Us', that episode was next level of epicness. I'm sold and will continue. Almost finished 1883. I was told by my cuz to watch 1923 after. I'll check out Your Honor sometime too.

Looking forward to watch Jon Jones fight tonight.

Almost lost my mom and sis this week. They slipped on black ice and wiped out. Thank God they are okay, the car is a write off. Spending the weekend with them with my son.

Edit

Forgot to mention Emancipation by Will Smith was a lot better than I expected. Couldn't bring myself to watch it at the time cause I'm not a fan of slavery movies and that was around the time Will pulled a bitch pussy whipped move slapping Chris Rock. He reminded me why he became the superstar he is.

The possibility of usage of Nuclear weapons in a tactical military setting is always there by bent of possession, only a fool wouldn't acknowledge that.
But there's also a reason why they have only been implemented once since the advent of the bomb; mutually assured destruction.
Barring countries like Pakistan, India, North Korea and Israel (Nuclear countries that have yet to develop effective deployment technology comparable to the nuclear superpowers) the same countries who were armed - or developed the weapons - during the cold war, are the same today: US, UK, China, Soviet Union/Russia, and France. NATO for all its faults (Established only a few years after the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki) has done far more to prevent Nuclear war by way of unfettered expansion, than the Non proliferation treaty was enacted to do. Three of those countries are NATO members, and any Nuclear attack on Ukraine will endanger at least four other member states (Ukraine is surrounded by them).

The idea that Russia would be more apt to use Nuclear weapons now, as opposed to then, when many of those countries weren't even protected under that umbrella is just an exercise in doom fantasy in my opinion. Anyone arguing we are closer to Nuclear conflict now than we were during the Cold War has watched too many movies and has let Hollywood and social media co-opt their rationality.

As opposed to the Russian federation who are happy to Kill Ukrainian lives? This conflict is complicated no doubt, but I'm still fuzzy on whether you have yet to make a determination on who the good guys are in all this. Or are there no good guys? Are all parties involved bad actors in this, and the difference is just the various shades of grey? Look I get it....... I'm Irish. I fully admit my perspective on this is very much peppered by sentiment ingrained practically on a genetic level, that occupation/invasion/oppression(real and exaggerated) is a binary concept. This war is anathema to me, but not even a generational conflict like The Troubles can lay claim to even a fraction of the losses the Ukrainians have suffered. The Troubles themselves were far more complex than this conflict could ever hope to be. There were very bad actors on both sides and a glut of internal politics that lead to sectarian outbreaks of violence that was outright tame compared to this.

What has Russia done PRACTICALLY that shows any indication they are willing to come to the negotiating table and iron out an actual solution for peace?
That is the end goal, and I hope for it daily, but if you put your faith in a country that outwardly states they want peace while firebombing a civilian playground, then quite frankly I question your judgment.

The Ukrainians have shown they are willing to die to defend their country. An act most American "Patriots" claim as a fundamental principle to which they adhere to, and are ready to enact at a moments notice. They wont stop fighting. Choosing a side and giving them the tools and resources to prevent even more dramatic lopsided losses is a better alternative than just letting them get steamrolled by a larger more sophisticated enemy.

You left out the part where I said that Boris Johnson stopped the peace talks. That's when I said they were playing with Ukrainian lives. Once you do something like that you're part of the problem.

Hell the US will blow up pipelines to make sure that Russia and Germany don't get to close either. Well...allegedly.

Before this war Ukraine was well-known for being one of the most corrupt countries on earth. There are no good guys here, just innocent victims caught in-between government machinations.

I'm not here to fight with you, I don’t want any wars, but here we are. However, I refuse to blindly follow the nonsense that the US government hasn't been fostering this situation for decades and this is EXACTLY what they want.

^^ Don't forget Angela Merkel very openly and boastfully saying that the Minsk agreement was a shame, she fooled Putin and only did it to buy time to strengthen Ukraine. Putin was genuinely trying to work things out. All Ukraine had to do was abide by it and stay neutral.
