Uncle Tom

...despite the fact that I agree with the overall message/premise. .. The movie was pretty empty and fell pretty flat. It was black conservative youtube - the movie. So you have quite a few people that are not well known doing an echo chamber thing

... Reminds me of all those Denesh D'Souza films

Frozen 2 5.5/10

And just barely. Sequels are so difficult to pull of. Even more for stuff like this.
I fast forwarded so many scenes.
I actually thought the story wasn’t bad. The whole execution and the full on writing for a younger audience script really made this barely watchable for me at parts.

Definitely agree, had it's funny moments but overall you can tell it was made to sell toys as opposed to a decent story.

Upgrade

Sci-fi action movie with a nice little twist. Guy gets paralyzed from the neck down and gets a computer implanted. Enjoyed when the guy let the computer take over. All in all, very enjoyable and made me chuckle

Warrior Nun

Netflix series very loosely based on the comic book. Starts as a slow burn laying foundations, then goes haywire about halfway through. Ending doesn't really jive (the more I think on it the more forced it feels), and they attempt to leave it on a cliffhanger but it's more like the ending to Halo 2 where it just feels unfinished. It's pretty good when it's on-game, but some episodes are just so heavy handed that it really detracts from it. Not-even-vaguely-disguised political posturing also lowered my opinion.

Really had some serious potential going that I think they wasted. The talent in the show was at least mostly there, but sometimes the writing/directing wasn't so you'd have an actor/actress seem pretty good in one episode and then wonder what the hell happened in a later one.

For an action-y supernatural-y show the fight scenes generally look really good and are well choreographed. That said, melee vs guns fights always feel at least a bit fake, and this one isn't an exception. As a general score, I'd rate the special effects favorably.

The invisible Man

Guessed all of the twists and turns within 30 mins. The part that was annoying... It should not have been as hard to prove the guys existence as it was.

Nobody

...really reminded me of John Wick. You never know who these people are when you fuck with them

Very enjoyable...even if I'm supposed to forget the guy got stabbed in the side and in the leg 2 days ago. Very enjoyable nonetheless

Shangchi 6.5/10. If it wasn't for the cool fights this would've been a 4.5/10. I feel like Disney has waaaaaay too much say over the scripts. This felt like a kids fairy tail movie.

Boss Level

Another caught in a time loop movie... And it doesn't take itself too seriously. It was entertaining.. And I chuckled once or twice

Tom Cruise did it better

King Richard 10/10 because it was a lot better than I expected. I also lived through the Williams sisters prime of dominance so it was cool revisiting seeing how it all started. If that stuff with the local hoodlum is true, it's fucking hilarious.

It was mostly about Venus cause if you recall she was the big shot first and then Serina came up quickly next. I feel like they could even do a sequel with the same girls if they wanted to.

Free Guy

7/10 More of Ryan Reynolds playing Ryan Reynolds but it's a formula that works and I liked the theme about not being stuck. You don't have to stay doing what you're doing, you can change.

Venom Let There Be Carnage

5/10. It was just kinda dumb, they made Venom act so childish and stupid. There were definitely some funny moments and don't think I didn't notice tokenized Shriek. The characters don't really act like the characters but that's to be expected these days.

There are some things in there that seem outlandish but are absolutely prolific. The cheating calls (calling balls out when they were in) in the juniors matches? Happens all the time. Completely overbearing parents who trash their children when they lose? Yep. Even at the pro level - taking long breaks in the middle of the match to try to interrupt momentum or psych out/frustrate your opponents? Still a thing. Saw Nadal at the US Open, he was doing things like a lot of intentionally bad tosses. I call it petty, but I guess it's technically a skill in and of itself. Like flopping I guess.

True and agreed. I was actually saying that same thing to the wife. It's a sports tactic like any other sport such as flopping in soccer or basketball. It's frowned upon but perfectly legal and gets the job done unfortunately. The only thing looking back now I would be embarrassed at myself for having to do that to a 15 year old Venus Williams in order to win.

Also, talk about breaking the bak ceiling. What is $12M deal in today's dollars? Could you imagine getting that much money at freaking 15 years old in the 90's?

$22M. I can imagine it... Definitely don't have anything close to the actual sports skill to actually do it though.

Wait a minute you mean to say that the amount of money she got offort didn't have anything to do with her skill and potential as a player and the amount of money she will potentially earn for the big organizations?

I have no idea what you're asking, so I'll just clarify what I said:

I can imagine getting $22M at 15. I didn't have anything near the skill to actually have anyone offer me $22M at 15.

Just Mercy 10/10

Michael B Jordan was great, I enjoy movies based on a true story. Another reminder that the legal system is fucked

Monster Hunter 8/10

Fun action movie that everyone can watch. Nothing you haven't really seen before. Good seeing Tony Jaa getting work.

Rumble 8/10

Had no idea WWE was getting into the animation business. I loved the unique concept, characters and storyline. Everything worked and makes sense for the WEE.

Till Death 8/10

Cause I still want to bone Megan Fox, but it's a great suspense movie. Probably shouldn't watch the trailer.

Naked Singularity 10/10

I just like everything that John Boyega is apart of to date (from an acting/character point of course). Great drama, action and comedy.

Free Guy 10/10

WTF This movie was awesome. This what SAO is supposed to be if made into live action, minus the Reynolds jokes of course.
