There we go
Re: There we go
^ I have to agree.
My God The Irishman is the longest damn movie I ever watched, and you know what? It was worth my time, really good movie I never got board for a bit. Real wise guy shit, I love my gangster/cartel/mob/mafia movies.

Same, watched it yesterday. Really enjoyed it, although the CGI de-ageing stuff didn't really work properly because I got confused from time to time. Masterpiece, imo.
Re: There we go
The cgi was freaking amazing. Did you realize Domenick Lombardozzi was playing fat tony? I only knew because of his voice. I liked how they made De Niro younger and age throughout the movie. Joe Pesci was awesome too!Thunderbox wrote: ↑Sun Dec 01, 2019 10:04 amSame, watched it yesterday. As long as it doesn't go woke, I'm good. It looks interesting enough...although Taskmaster looks a bit stupid.
Also...thank you internet.

Re: There we go
Looks like a giant case of meh. All sorts of nitpicks from me, but the biggest one is that the plot seems *really* familiar, but I can't place my finger on it.
That super hero landing really bothers me for some reason. I know that white suit is probably some technological marvel that limits the force she absorbs landing like that or whatever, but every time I see that clip I feel like her limbs should be broken. Current judgement is pass, but I'll give whatever trailer they release next a fair shot.

I honestly had the same reaction. Watched the trailer and thought immediately...it will catch a RedBox.
As far as the landing...isnt she supposed to be a supersoldier? I thought BW was a failed Captain America experiment for some reason

She's an assassin that's been trained since birth but not a super solider. David Harbour's character is supposed to be the Russian super solider.killacross wrote: ↑Wed Dec 04, 2019 9:55 pm I honestly had the same reaction. Watched the trailer and thought immediately...it will catch a RedBox.

For me it's the type of movie I'll see if I have time on a Friday(when I get a member's discount at the movies) or if I have enough points on my member card to get a free movie.
Re: There we go
In the comics she's slightly juiced. In the movies it's never mentioned or hinted at.killacross wrote: ↑Wed Dec 04, 2019 9:55 pm I honestly had the same reaction. Watched the trailer and thought immediately...it will catch a RedBox.

Re: There we go
Watched Gemini Man last night and the cgi for young Will really annoyed the hell out of me. Especially because they tried to make a big deal about it by saying how realistic it looked. We still have some ways to go.

Just finished The Irishman. Movie was such a slow burn...and fan-fucking-tastic!
Also, don't know why...but the scene where the FBI is like "Frank, theyre all gone...who are you protecting?" really hit me hard.
Re: There we go
Also the part where he's talking to his daughter (an adult now) and shes like dad you have no idea how hard it was growing up, we couldn't come to you with any of our problems out of fear of what you would do. I was like damn, real shit! Sad that the other daughter just cut him off completely.killacross wrote: ↑Mon Dec 09, 2019 12:26 amJust finished The Irishman. Saw Dark Waters. Thought it would be the stereotypical Hollywood "gotta stand up to the evil organization" kinda thing, because I didn't do any research on it before I went in. It's the same premise, but doesn't fit the mold. Was pretty decent, and I'm not a big Ruffalo fan.
