but "5 centimeters per second" has breathtaking animation. i really love the clarity, colors, and how the lighting looks so natural. the backgrounds have such attention to detail. this movie won several awards too

btw, have you watched the last episode of naruto, the chibaku tensei one? norio matsumoto, among other great animators was involved, so, what do you think about it, in terms of animation, excellent, poor, could have been better, wtf... i repeat, in terms of animation, no plot related.
great thread, so far the only one about sakugas in the internet.

@El Aleph, which episode is that, 167? I haven't watched Naruto in a while.

Yeah its 167, its got Wakabayashi back as Storyboarder and Director
Naruto Shippuuden #167's Key Animators: Norio Matsumoto, Shingo Yamashita, Kenichi Kutsuna and Atsushi Wakabayashi.
The episode itself has caused quite a stir on the internet from both English and Japanese fans because they've gone with a more stylised style, for lack of a better word, its almost western cartoon like in some places, something you might find in Looney Toons. Or if you want a better comparison, Birdy Decode season 2 episode 12 had the same exact team. Basically fans are annoyed because they went off model and rather allowed the animators to go free and do whatever they want rather than keep everything consistent, which technically might be impressive, in terms of looks it can look quite off putting.

Basically that guy whose been doing loads of awesome animation everywhere. The main one I can recall off the top of my head is the singing episode from Kurenai, which was really good.
