Pretty much. It's a revamp of the series. The story is a little different (Renton and Eureka as kids didn't happen in the series obviously). I don't know how much they changed, but we'll see.

Edit: I just checked parts of the raw and I gotta say, the movie is pretty disappointing. The art and animation really isn't up to par with the great E7 episodes. And this is supposed to be a movie? WTF. Was expecting a lot more.

I don't even know if I'll be watching this subbed. That's how disappointed I am with this movie. Movie quality my ass. It's more like regular tv quality that's not even as good as E7 TV series.

As active member I am, I only visit TAL twice a day, but iGoogle 12 times a day.

I don't care if the animation quality isn't up to par. E7 always had a killer plot and story that'll suck you u in. So I'll check it out as soon as it's subbed.

Yeah, surely the quality will vary. I'm really looking forward to this tbh - I loved E7 back when it came out. It will be interesting to see the story retold.

It was pretty good IMO.

Eureka is a lot more likable this time around (especially at the end ^_^)... which is strangely the opposite for some other characters =/

The retelling was alright. They reused some scenes from the TV series which is a little odd cause it's in a different scenario. Also music seemed to be missing in some scenes... But it was great during the battle. Second half was all original though.

Bones went a little too philosophical like in Xam'd... They should take a cue from Gainax =\ But there were some interesting parts (I forgot what the original story was tho lol)

Honestly, I really hoped Niji would kick in at the end... would've been so much more "emotional". Instead I muted the video and youtubed it ._.

As far as first impressions go, I skipped through the blueray rip raw and the animation is awesome in certain palces like the fight scenes between Nirvash and the DevilFish, but in other places its bit weird looking. Still its not as bad as Haoh makes it out to be.
